With his arrival in the United States in 1904, Leo Lippow quickly began pursuing his entrepreneurial instincts. Throughout the following 44 years, Leo prospered and acquired valuable assets for himself and his family.
In 1948, Leo recognized the need to create a formal estate plan so he could pass on his hard-earned wealth to the next generation of the Lippow family and still minimize his estate tax liability. Leo's business advisors recommended the formation of Lippow Development Co., a California corporation. The concept of a business entity that continues from generation to generation was attractive to Leo. He was able to transfer his real estate portfolio and other business ventures into Lippow Development Co. which in turn gave him the flexibility to pass his wealth and legacy to the next generation of the Lippow family.
With the persistence, dedication, wisdom and loyalty to the Lippow family by Leo's son, Sidney Lippow, the wealth and asset base of Lippow Development Co. grew. Sidney pursued with gusto Leo's philosophy of family ownership and stewardship in successfully promoting the family business legacy for future generations.
Today, LDC is owned and run by the third generation of Lippows, Larry and his sister Laura.
